The firm ‘Casale de li Tappi’ was born in the valley of the ancient Nursia, town of Saint Benedict
Despite the earthquake, the work goes on, Alessandro and his family are ‘Norcini’, people with an ancient profession, passed down from generation to generation. The noble art of Norcineria dates back to Middle Ages and was common in all the families.
This company cultivate legumes such as the Lentils of Castelluccio (PGI) and cereals; in addition to the ‘pink pig’, they dedicate together with the University of Perugia and Regione Umbria to the rescue of ‘belted black pig’, an extinct native race. In the skillful Alessandro hands, the meat becomes hams, salami, sausages without adding gluten, lactose and milk derivatives. Love for nature and animals brought to realise a Didactic Farm in order to let everybody spend magic moments in a place full of surprises!!!
